Upon regaining his freedom, Agostino rides "so desperately" with Galeotto,
that they reach Forli "by the morning of the third day, which was
a Sunday" [Chapter 4.IX].
We know that this Sunday was only a few days before
Cavalcanti's death on September 8, and therefore must have been
Sunday September 5.
